Flood of Mud Video

What happened along the Roanoke River between colonial times and the Great Depression may seem like ancient history. But the effects remain with us today and should matter to anyone concerned about the river, Albemarle Sound, and river ecosystems everywhere. Join scientists as they uncover the mystery of the Roanoke River's grotesquely enlarged levees and sediment-laden waters. Discover how historical deforestation and the subsequent flood of mud continue to transform the Roanoke River system today.
